Our Committees

Code & Research Committee
The Code and Research Committee works with others in the industry to develop safe codes and standards for stairways with regard for the aesthetic properties and design characteristics that make the staircase a visual and fundamental architectural element.


Education committee
The education committee develops the stair industry by providing educational opportunities that promote the construction of safe, beautiful, code compliant stairways to sma members, their customers, architects, designers, and building officials.

Marketing Committee
The Marketing Committee promotes the SMA organization,its programs and benefits to affect an increased awareness of the value of our members to the Stair Industry; among the general public, the building community, and potential members.

Nominations Committee
The Nominations Committee seeks out qualified candidates for the SMA Board of Directors and promotes member involvement at the committee level to nurture the growth of our future leaders.
